Edinburgh South After School Club for P4 to P7 Children

28/11/2023

We are delighted to announce that Edinburgh South Community Football has successfully secured funding from The Scottish FA's Extra Time funding programme. This initiative is using the influence of football to provide support and enhance the clubs and the communities they serve.

In alignment with collaboration between the Scottish FA and the Scottish Government, the Scottish FA Extra Time Programme aims to establish after school and holiday activity clubs tailored for primary school aged children. This programme is accessible to football clubs and trusts and seeks to foster an understanding of how structured activities for children, combined with broader engagement with local support services, can enhance outcomes, especially for families with limited financial resources.  More information about the funding can be found here: https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/football-development/club-services/scottish-fa-extra-time-programme/ on the SFA website.

We look forward to welcoming children to our free new After School Club for P4 to P7s on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3-5pm starting on 11th December at Inch Park Community Sports Club.  As well as a variety of programmed activities, snacks and a designated homework corner will also be provided.

A pick-up service will be available allowing children to be safely escorted from from Liberton, St John Vianny and Prestonfield. While children from other schools are welcome to participate, please note that there is no guaranteed pick-up service for them. However, if you have a young person who would greatly benefit from these after school activities and transportation is a concern, we have some limited funding available to explore potential solutions. We are open to discussing this further.

To register children use the QR Code or click here https://forms.office.com/e/AbMzd754HN.

In addition to the after school programme we will be running free camps during the end of the Christmas holidays, February break and the Easter holidays available to book on our website.

We also have some new funding in place to cover subscription fees for young players interested in joining the club and participating in training and games as well as those already playing with the club. Please note these places are available for pupils in P4 to P7 subject to spaces within our teams and age groups. If you know of any young people in or out of the club who may benefit from this opportunity please can you ask them to complete this form https://forms.office.com/e/BsCYRe3kFC and share the sign-up link with the parent or guardian. This assistance is primarily intended for young people who qualify for free school meals.

Limited places are also open to existing club team players over 11 years by using the same sign up link above to apply.
